Virginia Tech Football: 3 most overrated teams on 2023 schedule

Coach Pat Narduzzi has done a tremendous job with the Pitt Panthers. They are two short years removed from the ACC title game in Charlotte, winning 45-21 to Wake Forest, and they closed out the 2022 season by winning their final five games and rallying to be UCLA, 37-35, in the Sun Bowl in Texas.
This season, they will have Boston College transfer Phil Jurkovec under center and they are hoping he can have a better season than his two previous ones for the Eagles that were marred with injuries. BC failed to get to a Bowl while he was on campus.
Narduzzi will have to find a way to replace some starters on a defense that allowed 22.4 points a game last season and that number should rise, especially early in the season as they work in some younger players to get their feet wet.
Offensively, they return three linemen for Jurkovec, but they lose two skilled position players in Israel Abanikanda and Jared Wayne. If Jurkevoc is not able to stay healthy, things could quickly spiral downward in 2023 for the Panthers.
It would be surprising to not see Clemson and Florida State playing in the ACC title game, but unless something crazy happens, these three teams are overrated heading into the 2023 season. If Virginia Tech is going to get to a Bowl, winning these games can go a long way toward making that happen.
