Virginia Tech’s final eight games are all ACC games

Week 5: Sept. 30  vs. Pittsburgh

The Hokies open up ACC play at home against the Panthers and they will have Boston College transfer Phil Jurkevoc under center this season. In his time with the Eagles, Jurkevoc battled injuries, but when he played he played well. Prediction: Loss

Week 6: Oct. 7 at Florida State

A couple of years ago, the Seminoles were stuck in the mud, but since Mike Norvell has taken over, they are quickly becoming a National Powerhouse again. They will have a dynamic offense with Jordan Travis back at QB and their defense has improved. They should find themselves in the ACC title game in December. Prediction: Loss

Week 7: Oct. 14 vs. Wake Forest

The Demon Deacons suffered a huge loss with Sam Hartman leaving for Notre Dame. The biggest concern this season for Wake is their defense, which allowed a whopping 33.8 points a game in conference play last season. This is a winnable game at home for Pry’s crew. Prediction: Win

Week 9: Oct. 26 vs. Syracuse

After their bye week in Week 8, the Hokies host Syracuse and coach Dino Babers returns quarterback Garrett Schrader and wide receiver Oronde Gadsden II. Last season the Orangemen started hot, but faded down the stretch and finished just 7-6. They did lose some key pieces on defense, which is going to be tough to fill. Prediction: Loss
