Hokies get ACC Win over Boston College – Quarter by Quarter Summary

GAME SUMMARY – 2ND QUARTER

Keshawn King continued his impressive play in breaking free for a 65 yard run for a touchdown with 13:50 left in the 2nd quarter. King did not play the rest of the game with what appeared to be a minor injury.

VT – 17, BC – 0.

VT bobbled a punt reception, but was able to recover the fumble.

VT overall was not penalized in the same way as in Norfolk the week before, but got a false start penalty for 5 yards in the 2nd quarter.

VT went for it on 4th and 1, but was not successful.

BC got its 1st first down with 3:54 left in the game.

BC went for it on 4th and 1 and was able to get another first down with about 2 minutes left in the half.

Dax Hollifield was called for a pass interference penalty with 1:26 left in the quarter, which gave BC an automatic first down.

Zay Flowers, the BC receiver who was expected to be a major contributor, finally made a big play for the Eagles with a 21 yard reception for a first down.

VT was called for another pass interference penalty with 1:02 left in the quarter, giving the Eagles a first down on the 20 yard line.

BC QB Jurkovec was sacked on the next play by the Hokies.

The Hokies tipped a pass when the Eagles were trying to gain 3 yards for a first down, and the Eagles had to settle for a field goal.

VT – 17, BC – 3.

The Hokies defense only allowed 54 yards for BC in the first half.
