3.       BRENT PLY BEING AS GOOD AS ADVERTISED

It goes without saying that Coach Brent Pry will have to be as good as advertised for the Hokies to have a successful 2022 season.  Pry’s preferred style of play is to play with a strong defense and running game, mirroring the strong defensive units he had at Penn State.  Pry also learned under Hokie defensive coordinator legend Bud Foster as a graduate student in 1995-1997, and seeks to bring the defensive mindset that Hokie fans enjoyed throughout Foster’s tenure.  Pry has sought to engage with the students and alumni at Tech in his short time in Blacksburg, and has stated his goal of renewing recruiting ties within the Commonwealth of Virginia that were left to fall by the wayside in Justin Fuente’s time in Blacksburg.  Pry has certainly said all the right things, and now has to put these words into action as the 2022 seasons commences.
