2.       BEING COMPETITIVE IN THE ACC

Virginia Tech finished third in the ACC’s Coastal Division in 2021, and only went .500 in ACC play with a conference record of 4-4.  The Hokies then delivered a disastrous performance in the Pinstripe Bowl as a sour cherry on top of the Fuente era.  It was clear that the team had lost its fight by the end of the season.  However, Pry has said and done all the right things to start his time in Blacksburg and to establish his culture.  The 2022 season is also the last season playing under the Coastal and Atlantic Divisions before starting the new 3-5-5- format in 2023.  A strong in-conference showing, finishing in the top two in the Coastal Division, would be a strong start to the Pry era and allow his renewed commitment to recruiting within the Commonwealth of Virginia to boast of recent success.
