Prediction: James Mitchell, TE: Vikings, Round 6 Pick 184

Tight end has been an issue for Minnesota, a team that desperately needs to figure out the offensive side of the ball. They’ve been predictable and a large part of that is the fact that they don’t really have much going on at the tight end position. Irv Smith is strong but hasn’t been a consistent starter – capped off by the fact that he didn’t play a single snap in 2021.

Mitchell has the skills to give them the exact kind of help that they need from this position: he’s got the hands to make plays, but he can also be a solid blocker to give their backs the room that they haven’t seen before.

He might not play right away, but he could impress the team enough to make an impact. A team like Minnesota might give him the chance to prove himself around this point in the draft.
