The final five schools that were in the sweepstakes for Brown were the Penn State Nittany Lions, South Carolina Gamecocks, Maryland Terrapins, the West Virginia Mountaineers, and the Virginia Tech Hokies. In the end, Brown announced his decision in a special reveal to stay home in the state of Virginia and commit to the Hokies.

Brown is the 18th prospect and the first four-star recruiting in the 2022 Recruiting Class to commit to the Hokies. He is also the sixth player from the state of Virginia to commit to the Hokies. Brown is the 19th top running back in the nation and the eighth-ranked prospect from the state of Virginia. He is one of the most recent four-star running backs to commit to the Hokies since David Wilson in the 2009 Recruiting Class.

According to 247Sports, Brown measures in at 5-11, 205 pounds. He is a powerful and aggressive running back who also possesses great quickness in his feet and bursts. He has great vision and patience in the backfield. To go along with his power and aggressiveness, Brown plays with a low pad level. Brown is becoming a more dynamic playmaker in the passing game as an extra receiver.

His film reveals his ability to find great running holes and create more yards after the first contact from the defender. While he isn’t speedy at first, Brown’s agility builds up as he progresses deeper in the defense. Brown is highly elusive in his turns and sweeps to the outside. Combining the stability of his hips, power, and agility, Brown is a dangerous and consistent running back.

Last season for the Manchester Lancers, Brown rushed for 871 yards and 14 touchdowns on 115 carries. Brown averaged 7.6 yards per rush and 124.4 yards per game due to his power and great athleticism. He also caught seven receptions for 74 yards as an extra receiver in the backfield. In his freshman season, Brown rushed for 631 yards and five touchdowns on 72 carries.
