2021 NFL Draft: Christian Darrisaw landing spots
The Dolphins hold the 18th pick in the NFL Draft
Last year Miami went out and got their quarterback of the future in Tua from Alabama. The team was also one of the oddest teams in 2020, they didn’t have consistent running back, receiver, or offensive line play. Mix that with Tua getting benched several times last year and you have an offense without a direction.
Darrisaw could help with that direction.
Though with Tua being a left-handed quarterback I would not be surprised if they asked him to move to right tackle to cover his blindside. This is an offense that needs to solidify the line of scrimmage if they ever hope to see Tua progress into showing he was worth the fifth overall pick. They also boast maybe the worst running back situation in the NFL so giving the backs some help upfront must be a priority.
With their first pick in this draft I see them going playmaker not the offensive line, so this would be a great value for them.
Darrisaw would start instantly at either side depending on how they want to deploy him out. The value here is immense getting one of the best offensive linemen at 18th is not a normal value. He was just pushed down by the other playmakers in this draft and some elite defensive players at the corner, and pass rush. This is the most interesting spot he could go, as it would be interesting how they decide to use him and if Tua does not progress, will they go quarterback again, or does this team suddenly turn into a run-it 40 times a game team?
