Mike joined The Drive on ESPN Blacksburg for his weekly radio spot on Tuesday afternoon
I joined The Drive on ESPN Blacksburg on Tuesday with Tim Thomas of The Tech Lunch Pail to discuss the beginning of spring camp for the Hokies and what to expect out of the 2017-18 football season.
The Hokies open camp for the second consecutive season with question marks at the quarterback position, as Josh Jackson, Hendon Hooker, and A.J. Bush all compete for the starting job. Aside from quarterback, the running back position is up for discussion as well, with Travon McMillian, Deshawn McClease, and Steven Peoples all pushing for playing time.
On defense, there are very few questions for the strong 11-man unit, but the ones that remain surround the depth on the defensive line. The starters appear solid with Trevon Hill and Vinny Mihota at defensive end and Tim Settle at defensive tackle, but the coaching staff will look to develop the players behind them as well in order to keep everyone fresh throughout a long season.
