The Virginia Tech Hokies locked in their 15th commitment of the 2018 recruiting class on Saturday afternoon

Virginia Tech landed their 15th commitment in the 2018 recruiting class on Saturday, as linebacker Alan Tisdale committed to the Hokies.

The news was first reported around 3 PM Eastern time on Saturday afternoon by Spencer Turkin of the Greensboro News and Record.

Tisdale, a 6’4″ 220 lbs. prospect from Greensboro, is rated as a 3-star recruit by 247Sports, and as a 4-star recruit by Rivals. He chose the Hokies over NC State, North Carolina, Maryland, and a host of others.

Tisdale becomes the first linebacker commitment of the 2018 recruiting class, and the fifth prospect out of the state of North Carolina.

In addition, Tisdale is the third Hokies verbal commitment from the Greensboro area in this class, joining WR Tre Turner and defensive back D.J. Crossen.

Tisdale’s excitement in joining the Hokies defense is evident. In his interview that he gave to the Greensboro News and Record, Tisdale said:

"“To me, I was their main focus. They make it seem like they need you….Coach Foster and I have built a great relationship these past few months. I think I have an opportunity to start and make an impact on the Virginia Tech defense.”— Alan Tisdale"

Tisdale also expressed his desire to enroll early at Virginia Tech next January. By doing so, it will give Tisdale an opportunity to compete in spring practices and begin to make the adjustment from the high school game to the college game.

The #NC2VT movement is alive and well, and should continue throughout the rest of the 2018 recruiting cycle for the Hokies.
