I joined The Drive on ESPN Blacksburg on Tuesday afternoon to discuss a handful of Hokies topics surrounding recent strong recruiting results, and which prospect could be the next shoe to drop.

Additionally, we discussed 2018 3-star quarterback commit Quincy Patterson’s qualification for the Elite 11, and state of the Virginia Tech quarterback depth as a whole over the next few seasons. Is it possible that the Hokies have too many signal callers?

Finally, we discuss the biggest team needs for the Hokies in the 2018 recruiting cycle and beyond. Defensive back is a current position of strength, but with Greg Stroman, Brandon Facyson, and Adonis Alexander (potential early entry) all projected to be selected in next year’s NFL Draft, is cornerback depth a concern beyond the 2017-18 season?

More from Fighting Gobbler

Does the recent recruiting success of defensive backs in this cycle serve as a good omen moving forward on the trail? We discuss all of these pertinent recruiting topics as well.
