Philadelphia Eagles move QB Jerod Evans to Injured Reserve
The Philadelphia Eagles placed undrafted free agent and former Virginia Tech quarterback Jerod Evans on injured reserve on Monday after he cleared waivers over the weekend, according to NFL Trade Rumors.
The Eagles placed Evans on waivers with an injury designation on Sunday, after he suffered a foot injury during their rookie mini-camp.
The extent and specificity of the injury is not known at this time, but the feeling must be that it is a relatively significant injury to Evans, given the fact that he was moved to injured reserve by the Eagles after going unclaimed on waivers.

It appears, at least temporarily, that the tumultuous last few months for Jerod Evans has finally come to a head.
After leading the Hokies to a 10-4 season behind 3,500 yards passing and 29 touchdowns, Evans unexpectedly made the decision to enter the NFL Draft after his lone season at the FBS level.
The decision was a head-scratcher, at best, due to Evans’ inaccuracy on deep throws and lack of overall polish as a passer.
Due to those concerns from scouts, Evans was projected to be a late round pick, but ultimately went undrafted and signed with the Eagles to a rookie mini-camp deal.
Now, with Evans injured for the foreseeable future, it is hard to envision what his future holds. The Eagles saw enough talent in his game to take a chance on him as an undrafted free agent, and moving him to injured reserve, rather than outright releasing him, may lend credence to the possibility of him remaining with the team as a developmental piece on the practice squad once he becomes healthy.
Until then, Evans will look to rehab and get another opportunity to showcase his abilities in hopes of getting a chance to make a roster down the line.
