Mike joined Mark Rogers TV to discuss the state of the Hokies entering spring practice

Justin Fuente and the Virginia Tech Hokies opened up spring practice on Tuesday evening with plenty of questions littering the offense.

The Hokies are looking to replace quarterback Jerod Evans, as well as two out of the three leading receivers off of last season’s roster in Bucky Hodges and all-time receiving leader Isaiah Ford.

Virginia Tech has plenty of quarterbacks in spring camp, but who will gain the early edge in the starting quarterback battle between true freshman Hendon Hooker, redshirt-freshman Josh Jackson, and junior transfer A.J. Bush?

More from Fighting Gobbler

Which receivers will emerge in spring practice to supplement Cam Phillips in replacing Isaiah Ford and Bucky Hodges? Can newcomers Kalil Pimpleton and Caleb Farley (who is listed as a defensive back, by the way) make an impact on the offensive side of the football?

What about at running back and on the offensive line, where the Hokies replace starters in Sam Rogers (RB), Augie Conte (guard), and Jonathan McLaughlin (tackle)?

I attack these topics and more with Mark Rogers, as we continue to breakdown the Hokies and their roster as they progress through the early portions of spring practice.
