Senior forward Zach LeDay was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team after a stellar two-game stretch for the Hokies

#5 Duke defeated #3 Notre Dame on Saturday night to capture the 2017 ACC Tournament Championship.

With the conclusion of the conference tournament, the All-Tournament teams were announced shortly after the championship game ended.

On the ACC All-Tournament Second-Team was Virginia Tech redshirt senior forward Zach LeDay who shot 52% from the floor over two games against Wake Forest and Florida State, while averaging 26.5 points per game and 12 rebounds in total for the tournament.

Standing at 6’5″, LeDay has been tasked with playing on the block against many taller frontcourts in ACC play all season long. Despite the disadvantage in size, LeDay has performed well all year, not just in the ACC Tournament.

In his redshirt-senior season with the Hokies, LeDay is averaging a career-high 16.3 points per game to go along with 7.3 rebounds. He is also shooting a career-best 53.0% from the floor, just over five full percentage points higher than his second best mark in his career last season, when he converted on 47.8% of his shot attempts.

LeDay was the only member of the Hokies to make the ACC All-Tournament team, which was largely made up of stars from Notre Dame and Duke.

Next up for Zach LeDay and the Hokies is a date with the Wisconsin Badgers in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. As they play in the tournament for the first time since the 2007-08 season, the Hokies captured the #9 seed and will play the #8 Badgers on Thursday night in Buffalo, New York. Gametime is slated for around 9:40 PM ET, and will be televised on TruTV.
