Yesterday, the Virginia Tech Hokies became the latest program to offer a scholarship to four-star offensive tackle Sean Foster of Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, Illinois.

Foster is already one of the top junior offensive tackle recruits in the country with ESPN, 247 Sports, and Rivals all ranking him as one of the top 25 junior offensive tackles in the nation. Foster is also one of the top juniors in Illinois, and already has offers from 16 different FBS programs.

Virginia Tech has had some recruiting success in the Midwest with two Indiana recruits committed to the Hokies from the Class of 2015 in Adonis Williamson and Eric Whitehead. Foster also looks like a player who could become a starter for the Hokies early on in his collegiate career.

Foster is now one of Virginia Tech’s top offensive line targets for the Class of 2016. We were fortunate that we were able to do a Q&A with Sean Foster. Here is what he told us.

Tim Thomas: How were you told about receiving your offer from Virginia Tech?

Sean Foster: “My coach had told me about the coaching staff and how much we could relate to them.”

TT: How much contact has Virginia Tech had with you before offering you yesterday?

SF: “Every other week”

TT: What is your current relationship with Virginia Tech offensive line coach Stacy Searels?

SF: “Very strong”

TT: What stands out to you about Virginia Tech?

SF: “Everything. What a great fan base they have been nothing but great to me. The coaches are great and the academics are great there.”

TT: For those who don’t know, your father played football at Iowa. What do you think about the Hawkeyes?

SF: “Iowa is an excellent school and for them to offer me it would be huge for both my dad and the rest of my family.”

TT: Is there one program that you have a deep desire to receive a scholarship offer from more than any other?

SF: “No I am currently keeping all of my options open.”

TT: Are there any programs that you would see as leaders in your recruitment?

SF: “No sir.”

TT: Lastly, what is your prediction for the College Football Playoff National Championship?

SF: “Ohio state beats Oregon”

We would like to thank Sean Foster for participating in this Q&A.
