The Virginia Tech Hokies used some different lineups against the Alabama A&M Bulldogs with Buzz Williams trying some different things. Christian Beyer received significant playing time and took advantage of it with a big game as the Hokies went on to defeat the Bulldogs 65-55. A lot of Hokies who had received a lot of playing time received a lot less in this game though this seems like a one game thing.

However, Van Zegeren will definitely be ready to bounce back against The Citadel and that is exactly what he will do.

The Citadel is actually averaging less rebounds per game than the Hokies and Van Zegeren will look to have a big game after only having 1 point and 3 rebounds in 10 minutes against Alabama A&M. Van Zegeren will almost certainly start against The Citadel and will get a lot more playing time early to get some momentum.

The Citadel has one solid, veteran big man in P.J. Horgan who is about the same size as Van Zegeren with the Dutch big man being an inch or two taller. Horgan has been fairly consistent throughout the season but Van Zegeren will be ready to shine in this matchup.

The Dutch big man had double-digit points in the three previous games and will put up 13 to 15 points in around 25 minutes of playing time in this game. Van Zegeren will also have a couple of blocks while also being a force on the glass with at least 8 rebounds in this game.

Van Zegeren will also prevent Horgan from having a big game though he will give up some free throws to Horgan which will help him get some points. Overall, Van Zegeren will avoid foul trouble and will help make sure that this game isn’t too close so Shane Henry can get some significant playing time along with a few minutes for Satchel Pierce.

This game will be a great chance for big man Joey Van Zegeren to step up and have a big game against another decent big man. Van Zegeren will want to make a statement that he is still a force in the post and will have a big game for the Hokies against The Citadel.
