Can’t Rule Out Alabama
The Alabama Crimson Tide have been the most dominant team in college football over the course of the last six seasons and are looking to win their fourth national title in the last six seasons via the first College Football Playoff.
Nick Saban has turned Alabama into the most nationally-recognized program in college football right now, and recruits definitely have taken notice with Alabama dominating the recruiting rankings. However, Saban has developed many of these top recruits into NFL players which is why Alabama has become a very consistent destination for a lot of top recruits.

Ricky DeBerry would be a very good fit as an outside linebacker in Nick Saban’s 3-4 defense which is definitely a benefit for the Crimson Tide’s hopes of getting DeBerry. The success of Saban at Alabama is undeniable for any recruit and definitely has to have an impact on DeBerry’s decision.
One thing that Alabama can’t offer is early playing time and that can always be a factor that has a surprising impact on a recruit’s decision. The Crimson Tide also have not had the most successful NFL outside linebackers, but there is no denying how good of a job Nick Saban does at developing players.
Alabama is definitely one of the top contenders to gain the commitment of Ricky DeBerry.
