The Longshot: Oregon

The Oregon Ducks had their original official visit cancelled before Sweat decided to reschedule at the last-minute for this past weekend. One thing that Oregon was likely able to sell Sweat on was the fact that the Ducks just won the Pac-12 title in dominating fashion which is always a positive talking point.

Oregon has not traditionally produced a lot of defensive players, and definitely has the connotation as an offensive powerhouse. Oregon has produced a few decent defensive NFL players but this is something where Oregon has a big issue.

The Ducks also have a proximity to home issue with Oregon being the farthest school from Chesapeake by far of all five finalists for the five-star defensive end. The Ducks also might not necessarily be the best fit for Sweat from a defensive scheme stand point though they will probably look to put Sweat in the best possible position fit within their scheme.

Overall, the Oregon Ducks are far from favorites and it will be a huge shock if they somehow get Josh Sweat.
