Last week, the Virginia Tech Hokies picked up a big victory on the road against the Duke Blue Devils and are now one win away from becoming bowl eligible for the 22nd straight season. Today, the Hokies travel to Winston Salem, North Carolina to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons with Virginia Tech hoping to get that vital sixth win today.
The Hokies are huge favorites today against Wake Forest but anything can happen sometimes. Lets get to the predictions for this ACC game between Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
Dwight Lester
Hokie fans, our team is one win away from being able to participate in a bowl game this year. If you had said this was a possibility during the middle part of the season, most fans would have called you crazy. However, here we stand only one win away with our next game against a team who is struggling more than the Hokies. The Hokies travel to Winston Salem to face a Wake Forest team who only has two wins on the season.
This a very winnable game as the Hokies are on paper the dominate team. Wake Forest has one of the worst offenses in the conference. This will be a great game for the Hokie defense to continue the momentum they created in their last game.

Look for Dadi Nicolas to lead the pass rush against a young quarterback who has be somewhat of a turnover machine. John Wolford has not seen very many pass rushes like the Hokies posses. I look for him to be running for his life with the defense taking control of the game, giving the offense plenty of opportunities on a short field.
The offense will have to be better and this game could be a good warm up for the Commonwealth Cup. The Hokies inserted Brenden Motley into the Wild Turkey package to create a spark. Motley succeed in doing this.
Look for Motley to get more snaps in this package and for the package to expand in plays. Also, the Hokies should take advantage of the Bucky Hodges mismatch against the Demon Deacon defense.
The fact is this game should not be close and should be over at halftime. The Hokies should hopefully use this game as a tune up for the Commonwealth Cup. They say to never look ahead past an opponent but I think this game will be over by halftime as the Hokies cruise 38-10. 22 years in a row is a heck of a streak.

The Hokies are one win away from extending their bowl streak and today seems like a great opportunity to get it done against a two-win Wake Forest team. The Demon Deacons will be looking to get a big win in their final two games to build some momentum for next season after being absolutely dominated in ACC play this season. However, today will not be that day.
Michael Brewer was solid last week but will play a lot better this week even with Wake Forest having a couple of good players in their secondary. Bucky Hodges has become a very dangerous player in the passing game and will have the best game of the season today. Meanwhile, the Hokies will be fairly productive on the ground with J.C. Coleman and Sam Rogers.

This week will be the return of Chase Williams who will have a solid game while Andrew Motuapuaka will also get in and do some damage. Dadi Nicolas had a big game last week and will have another strong game this week while the Virginia Tech secondary will force a couple of interceptions, one of which will be by Kendall Fuller.
The Hokies are ready for this game and no one should expect it be close. Wake Forest will get a touchdown and a field goal but nothing more than that while the Hokies will put plenty of points on the boards. Virginia Tech will get an easy victory today 37-10.
