Kickoff is not too far away for the Virginia Tech Hokies as they make their final preparations before tonight’s showdown with the Pittsburgh Panthers at Heinz Field. Virginia Tech is making their first of two appearances on Thursday Night football on ESPN with the Hokies set to host the Miami Hurricanes next week at Lane Stadium.
One thing that seems to get a lot of attention is the uniforms for these teams especially with many teams having a lot of different uniforms. The Hokies have had their fair share of different helmets including the Hokie Stone helmet which made its debut last season on a Thursday Night at Georgia Tech.
However, the Hokies have not gone with anything crazy for tonight’s game.
The Hokies are going with some of their classic uniforms with the all-white jersey combination along with the maroon helmets. This is the Hokies’ traditional road uniforms but the fact that the Hokies are not doing anything fancy this week could be a sign that Virginia Tech has a unique jersey prepared for the Thursday Night home game against Miami.
This tweet could have been foreshadowing next week’s uniforms instead of this week’s uniforms as previously thought.
Next week’s game is also the Maroon Effect game for those who don’t know and the Hokies might be considering an all-maroon uniform for next week’s game against Miami. However, we’ll probably get some sort of preview of next week’s uniform in the next few days but all the attention of Virginia Tech will be on tonight’s showdown at Heinz Field where the Hokies will hope to snap their Heinz Field losing streak.
