Gameday is here as the Virginia Tech Hokies are ready for their showdown against the East Carolina Pirates. The Hokies are hoping to go to 3-0 and avoid a letdown game with the Hokies seeming very focused on making that a reality. Virginia Tech’s players and fans know that the Hokies definitely have a chance to make a run at the playoffs especially after the win over Ohio State.
Once again, Fighting Gobbler makes its predictions for the game so take a look for our predictions for the Hokies as they face East Carolina.

East Carolina has always given Virginia Tech tough games and many considered this to be a trap game for the Hokies after their win over Ohio State last Saturday. However, Virginia Tech, led by quarterback Michael Brewer, will come out firing against the Pirates.
Brewer throws two first quarter TDs as the Hokies get out to an early lead. The Hokies then switch to a ground and pound game to control the ball and game. The Hokies cruise in the second half to a relatively drama free 31-10 victory.

This week, the Hokies take on a pesky foe in the East Carolina Pirates. The Hokies are coming in off a stellar win against Ohio State. The Pirates make the trip to Lane Stadium coming off a disappointing loss against South Carolina where they controlled most of the game. The Hokies need to avoid the letdown game after a big win.
The Pirates always play the Hokies tough and with the confidence gained from last week’s game, they could take advantage of any letdown by Michael Brewer and company. However, Brewer will not let the Hokies become unfocused. The Pirates keep it close, closer than fans like but the Hokies pull it out 21-13. 3-0 has a nice ring to it.

The Hokies have won their toughest game on paper but this game has the potential to be a challenge if the Hokies aren’t careful. The East Carolina Pirates have traditionally played the Hokies tough and this game has the potential to once again be one of those games.
However, the Hokies will avoid a letdown game and Michael Brewer will play well against an East Carolina defense that seems to have a weak pass rush. The Hokies’ secondary will slow down ECU QB Shane Carden and the Pirates’ passing game and the lack of a running game will also hurt. This game will be somewhat close but the Hokies will have a comfortable victory.
The Hokies win 27-13 over East Carolina and go to 3-0.
