Phil Steele released his Preseason All-ACC teams today as he builds up interest for his 2014 College Football Preview book that comes out in a few weeks. We already told you about the two Hokies that made Steele’s Preseason All-ACC First Team but here is the full list of Hokies.

First Team All-ACC

  • DT Luther Maddy
  • CB Kendall Fuller

Second Team All-ACC

  • RB Trey Edmunds
  • CB Brandon Facyson
  • S Kyshoen Jarrett

Third Team All-ACC

  • WR Joshua Stanford
  • OT Jonathan McLaughlin
  • P A.J. Hughes

Fourth Team All-ACC

  • WR Demitri Knowles
  • C David Wang
  • DT Corey Marshall

We have already gone through the First Team selections for the Hokies but Trey Edmunds, Brandon Facyson, and Kyshoen Jarrett all deserve their Preseason All-ACC Second Team honors. Jarrett was the top safety not to be included on the Phil Steele Preseason while All-ACC First Team while Brandon Facyson and Trey Edmunds being the second cornerback and running back respectively. Edmunds was probably the only close call but all three are absolutely deserving.

Joshua Stanford has a chance to make a climb onto being All-ACC Second Team but Stanford should be no worse than the top wide receiver on the Preseason All-ACC Third Team. Jonathan McLaughlin has the potential to be a future All-ACC First Team player but it is impressive seeing McLaughlin on the Preseason All-ACC Third Team as a sophomore. A.J. Hughes is the Preaseason All-ACC Third Team though Hughes definitely has the chance to be All-ACC First Team at the end of the season.

The Preseason All-ACC Fourth Team had some surprises on it with three Hokies making the team. Corey Marshall has had a tremendous turnaround to come back and get a second shot, and his strong play in the past plus a strong spring has earned him this honor. Demitri Knowles making the Preseason All-ACC Fourth Team just shows the strong talent pool Virginia Tech is building at wide receiver. David Wang is currently not even the projected starter at center yet so his inclusion is a surprise but Wang definitely still seems likely to start with Caleb Farris likely at guard.

Overall, 11 Hokies have made the Phil Steele Preseason All-ACC teams which is a good sign for the Hokies.
