Ricky Surum’s Incredible Catch

Last night, Virginia Tech baseball ended up on both SportsCenter and Fox Sports Live for a positive reason after a play that was one of the best in baseball of any level this year. Virginia Tech infielder Ricky Surum made a tremendous diving catch last night that has been on the SportsCenter Top 10 and also made in on Fox Sports 1. The freshman Surum has shown a lot of potential this season and that catch he made is the type of player you want to see on the diamond.

Surum’s catch is one of the best that I’ve seen in a while and is the type that not too many collegiate players would have been able to make if they would have been able to put their body on the line to make that type of catch. Surum’s catch might just also be the Play of the Year across all sports at Virginia Tech and is the type of play that he will remember for a long time, especially after it got on SportsCenter and Fox Sports Live.
