There had been people wondering if any of the three commits of Virginia Tech basketball’s Class of 2014 would decommit after the change in leadership from James Johnson to Buzz Williams. Today, news broke that small forward T.J. Lang had decided to sign a release from his National Letter of Intent and decommit from the Hokies after all of the change as Lang evaluates all of his options. The news was broke by HokieHaven.com earlier this morning as Lang is the second player to decommit today.

This is more disappointment as Lang was a part of a solid Class of 2014 but this loss isn’t actually that big. Lang is a good player but Lang was likely to be stuck behind multiple wing players including Ben Emelogu, Justin Bibbs, Adam Smith, Jalen Hudson, and Will Johnston. Buzz Williams is going to try to keep Lang but it wouldn’t surprise me if Lang ends up elswhere as Stanford and Oregon State are also in on him. The Class of 2014 might have gotten weaker but the Hokies still have a very solid recruiting class for 2014.
