Virginia Tech Gets Commit From 4-Star Safety CJ Reavis
By Ty Hodges
Virginia Tech started off this spring game Saturday right by picking up an early commitment before the spring game even started. Four-star safety prospect CJ Reavis committed to Virginia Tech today. Reavis becomes the Hokies’ sixth commitment for the 2014 cycle. If I had to guess, Reavis won’t be the only commitment Virginia Tech picks up today, so make sure to stay tuned to Fighting Gobbler for all of your spring game commitment updates because there are probably going to be a lot of them!
Reavis is a very solid player and comes it at 275 on 247Sports’ composite top players list. Reavis is just another addition to a unit that has come to be known as DBU (Defensive back university). He projects as a safety right now, but he also could move down and play outside linebacker. Though, given the Hokies’ struggles at safety depth right now I would expect Reavis to stay at safety. He’s versatile and can play either free safety or rover, so you know Bud Foster and defensive backs coach Torrian Gray have to be excited about that. Reavis also had offers from Ohio State, Tennessee, Wisconsin, UNC, and UVA. Below are some highlights of Reavis in action. Welcome to Hokie Nation, CJ!
