Virginia Tech Unveils Military Appreciation Helmets
By Ty Hodges
Last year Virginia Tech gave us some…interesting helmet designs. From the infamous “Hokie Tracks” helmet to the Foghorn Leghorn-esque helmets that made a couple of appearances, Virginia Tech has definitely been experimenting with their image. This upcoming season appears to be much of the same with the unveiling of the Military Appreciation Game helmets.
These helmets will be worn against Marshall on September 21st. The unique orange and maroon urban camo design will be accompanied by special white uniforms as well. There will, of course, be a special t-shirt you can purchase to sport at the Military Appreciation Game as well. The Military Appreciation Game is also the Whiteout Game as well. What do you all think of the helmets? Like them? Love them? Hate them? Meh? Personally I’m not sure how I feel about these helmets yet. I imagine they’ll grow on me in time, but for now all I know is that they are better than most of the creative designs that were put together last season. I’m curious to see the uniforms that will be paired with the helmet, especially since the uniforms were given the distinction as “special.” Either way, leave a comment below and tell us how you feel about these!
