In a press release sent out by Virginia Tech today, the school announced that head coach James Johnson has finished putting together his new staff.

The newest, and last addition to the staff is Andy Moore, who will take over as the Director of Men’s Basketball Operations.

Moore comes to Blacksburg from Eastern Michigan, where he spent the last four years as a full-time assistant and game operator.  Prior to working at Eastern Michigan, Moore also spent time at Bowling Green, California University of Pennsylvania, Kenyon College and the University of Michigan.

In total, Moore’s basketball resume spans 20 years.

In the press release, James Johnson seemed very optimistic about the hire.

"“I’m very excited to have Andy Moore join our staff. He is an individual that has a wide range of skills and experience in college basketball. He has worked as an assistant coach at all levels, including time as an assistant coach in the Big Ten and also has worked in all areas of operations. He is a great addition to our staff.”–James Johnson, Virginia Tech Men’s Head Basketball Coach"

Moore will round out the new staff, accompanied by assistants Kurt Kanaskie, Mark Byington, and Ramon Williams.  Now that the new staff is in place, Virginia Tech finally has its much-desired new basketball family complete.  From here on out, it’s just a matter of what this new family accomplishes.
