The Virginia Tech Hokies entered last season with a lot of concerns about a wide receiver corps that was looking fairly weak. However, WR coach Aaron Moorehead made a huge impact on the Hokies’ wide receivers last fall in his first season in Blacksburg and there is a lot more optimisim in the strength of the Virginia Tech wide receiver corps.
Before we get to this week’s poll of the week, here is a brief look back at last week’s poll about who is the Hokies’ best quarterback? We received 72 votes with 51 of them being for Michael Brewer which ust shows either the confidence in Brewer or the lack of belief in the Hokies’ other options. Brenden Motley was second with 17 votes so there is some confidence that Motley could be the answer.
The biggest surprise was how Andrew Ford was third with 3 votes and how Mark Leal only received one vote. This just shows us the lack of confidence Hokie Nation has in Leal after his terrible Sun Bowl performance and his disappointing Spring Practice. Chris Durkin was the only one not to receive any votes and seems headed for a redshirt.
Now from the quarterbacks to some of the players that will be catching those passes, this week’s poll of the week is who do you think is the best wide receiver on the Virginia Tech roster?
Joshua Stanford had a great freshman season and has showed that he could become one of the best receivers ever for Virginia Tech. Willie Byrn might not be the biggest name but Byrn is consistently productive and knows how to get the job done. Demitri Knowles played better and better as the season went along and could potentially be the top receiver for the Hokies once again.
So, who do you think the Hokies’ best receiver is? Is it Joshua Stanford, Willie Byrn, Demitri Knowles, or someone else like Carlis Parker?
