Antone Exum has been selected by the Minnesota Vikings

Antone Exum had injuries derail his senior season for the Hokies and it really hurt his chances of going on the first two days of the 2014 NFL Draft. Antone Exum has a lot of potential to be a very effective player at the next level after having a very productive collegiate career before his injury-plagued senior season. If healthy, Exum had the potential to be a guy that would have gone a lot higher. However, there is a NFL team that has decided to take Antone Exum and make him a sixth round pick.

Antone Exum has been selected as a sixth round pick by the Minnesota Vikings. Exum is the third Hokie to be selected in the 2014 NFL Draft only after Kyle Fuller and Logan Thomas. Exum will get the honor of being a NFL draft pick which has to be nice after his injury plagued senior season.

Antone Exum has the skill set to play at cornerback or at safety at the next level which makes him an intriguing prospect. Exum’s versatility will help give him a job in the NFL at least as a backup but Exum has the potential to come in and be at least a nickel cornerback for the Vikings or be a backup safety. Antone Exum has the potential to be a starting cornerback in the NFL but the injury issues in 2013 is why Exum’s potential is less certain. However, Exum is going to be a solid player as at least a nickel cornerback or backup safety.
