Good news is approaching for Hokies fans. It appears that senior cornerback Antone Exum is finally ready to return to the lineup. Exum has missed the first 7 games of the year, and is anxious to return to the field. However, Exum has not been missed to badly due to the incredible play by the secondary so far this season.
Antone Exum’s return is coming at the perfect time. It appears that freshman cornerback Brandon Facyson may miss Saturday’s contest against Duke. The freshman suffered a concussion during practice on Sunday. Facyson has missed the last few days of practice, but is hoping to be cleared to play come Saturday. The best thing the Hokies could do is let Facyson sit this one out. There is no point in rushing him back to game action, if Exum can suit up and play.
Antone Exum has had a long road to recovery, and he is very excited to return. He received a vote of confidence from defense back’s coach Torrian Gray, who said he expects him to go Saturday. If Brandon Facyson is indeed out, Exum will have a chance to prove he is healthy enough to start somewhere on defense. However, if Facyson is ready to go, there could be a controversy in the secondary.
