Virginia Tech beat North Carolina to earn it’s fifth win a row Saturday. The team also grabbed their second conference win, and improved their record to 5-1. Logan Thomas played well yet again, and led the Hokies to victory. The defense was also huge again, and continued their strong play.
The Hokies offense got off to a fast start and the main reason for that was Logan Thomas. Thomas continued to play well, and has really surprised fans. I say surprised not because I don’t know think he is good, but rather because he is finally outgrowing his inconsistency. Thomas has played great in his last two games, and is proving this is a sign of more good performances to come. LT3 tossed 3 touchdown passes for 293 yards. Also, he did not throw any interceptions in the game. Logan Thomas is playing some great football for Virginia Tech and fans should be getting excited about him.
The defense stepped up once again for Virginia Tech. The Hokies came away with 3 more turnovers in the game. Kyle Fuller and Kyshoen Jarrett each had an interception in the game. Also, the defense forced a fumble and only allowed 99 rushing yards. The defense has established themselves as one of the best in the country and there should be no more talk of weather they are one of the best in the country or not.
The rushing attack really never got going in Saturday’s game. Trey Edmunds rushed 14 times for just 27 yards.Logan Thomas did not have the same success he had last week on the ground as he only rushed for 2 yards on 9 carries. It’s great that Thomas and the receivers seem to be heating up, but the run game must figure out there issues sooner rather than later.
Virginia Tech is starting to look like a real contender in the ACC. Logan Thomas is playing outstanding and is the main reason why the team is playing so well recently. The defense is arguably the best in the country, and they will look to keep on rolling. Virginia Tech will take on Pitt next week at 12:00. Good times seem to be ahead for the Hokies and they are beginning to become a consistent football team.
