3 Virginia Tech Players Receive ACC Weekly Honors

While Virginia Tech continues to roll on the season, some players have really stood out. This week, 3 Hokies earned the ACC Weekly Honors. Having one player win an ACC weekly award is a big deal, but 3 has to make Frank Beamer feel good about his team. The winners of the awards are cornerback Brandon Facyson, guard Andrew Miller, and defensive tackle Derrick Hopkins.

Brandon Facyson earned his award after making a few big plays against Georgia Tech. The freshman recorded yet another interception, and a very important fumble recovery. Next is guard Andrew Miller. The lineman helped protect quarterback Logan Thomas and contributed to his rushing success. Miller also recored 11 knockdown blocks in the game. Last on the list is defensive tackle Derrick Hopkins. Hopkins recorded 7 tackles, and also contributed to the defense only allowing 129 yards on the ground to Georgia Tech. The news is great for Virginia Tech and the Hokies will look to win more awards as the season goes on.
