Firstly – let me apologize about the longgggggggg delay in posting/general activity. Finals time coinciding with many, many projects due at the same time really hindered any ability to write. The semester is over now thought, and I’m back on the grind, so to speak.
Onward to the actual news for the day – Virginia Tech football has nabbed another commitment for the 2013 recruiting class. The newest commit is Jonathan Mclaughlin, a 3-star offensive tackle out of Mauldin, SC. McLaughlin had been prepping at Fork Union but apparently is no longer enrolled there. Who knows what that means going forward? However, that shouldn’t affect this commitment in any way.
I used the word “steal” in the headline because McLaughlin was originally an East Carolina verbal commit. However, after an in-home visit from Frank Beamer, which is very rare I might add, McLaughlin gave Beamer his word and commitment.
McLaughlin marks the 20th commitment for the 2013 recruiting class, and the third offensive line recruit. This is now shaping up to be a pretty good class in terms of commits picked up along the offensive front. Every offensive line recruit in this class so far measures out to at least 6’4 and at least 285 pounds already.

Welcome aboard, Jonathan! Hokie Nation is happy to have you.
