Wyatt Teller has been such an interesting recruitment to follow, especially as of late. Teller, a 6’4, 264 pound defensive end from Liberty High School, has seemed like a pretty heavy UVA lean for quite some time now. However, as of late Teller has gone quiet with his recruitment – until now that it.
Mike Farrell of Rivals.com sent out this tweet today:
“Wyatt Teller decision coming tomorrow (Friday) between #Hokies and #UVa”

This is a pretty huge swing in things. Over the summer, Teller stopped really talking about his recruitment despite having taken plenty of visits to UVA and only one to Virginia Tech. As of late though, the momentum seems to have shifted in Virginia Tech’s favor. Sources within Liberty’s inner circle say that Teller might be a solid Virginia Tech lean at this point. Now that we know that Teller’s decision is coming sooner rather than later, one can’t help but feel better about Virginia Tech’s chances with Teller.
Rivals.com has Teller listed as the 75th overall prospect in the country, and a 4-star recruit. In a defensive class that already includes a plethora of secondary talent, including a pair of top-100 talents at defensive back, snagging another top-100 kid along the defensive line would set this class over the top.
If Teller somehow miraculously ends up with the Hokies, you can expect some dominant Virginia Tech defenses down the line. With Bud Foster being Teller’s lead recruiter, I don’t think he’s failed to mention that fact.
We’ll have an update for you tomorrow about whether or not Teller has become a Hokie.
